The Football Nation writers? platform went live in late June, 2011. Among the first Football Nation user writers was Ken Crippen, author and executive director of the Professional Football Researchers Association (PFRA), a non-profit educational organization dedicated to pro football history. Crippen allowed Football Nation to be among the first media entities to break the news of Hall of Fame tight end John Mackey?s death on July 6.
